U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and HowardBerger company announced on Chinese-made indoor / outdoorPower supplyExtension line andPower supplyBoard to implement a voluntary recall .
This recall involves heavy loads of goods for the Brightway outdoor extension cord and Brightway indoor household extension cord and power strip , the product model R2600 ~ R2615 ( outdoor extension cord ), EE6 ~ EE20 ( indoor extension cord ) and MP6DG (Power board ), "Brightway" marked on the power line , product type marked on the packaging . The extension cord and power supply board from 8 October 2009 in the nationwideHardwareRetail StoresSell, Unit 1 ~ 20 U.S. dollars / root / one .
The number of recalled products is about 12,000 / month . Reason for the recall , the power to extend the line of wire and power panels covering the outer layer of copper wire does not comply with U.S. law , posing a fire hazard. Up to now , HowardBerger company has not received any reports of incidents .
